MY STORY

Ni Hao, My name is Qian and I am a nationally certified language teacher. I have a master's degree from Beijing Foreign Studies University, one of the best language schools in China, with a focus on English-Chinese simultaneous interpreting. Thus, I am also an interpreter and translator.

I was born and raised in Qingdao, one of the most beautiful coastal cities in China. Besides languages, I have always loved the sea - hence the name "Sealingo". As a Chinese proverb says: 海纳百川 有容乃大 (Hǎinà bǎichuān yǒuróng nǎidà). The literal translation is “the ocean is vast because it admits all rivers”, which means “tolerance like the ocean makes us stronger". This saying has always been my motivation.

During my studies, I had the privilege of spending a year as an exchange student in Sweden and traveling around, which made me more open and involved in Western mentalities. 

After graduation, I worked in a documentary production company for renowned international broadcasters such as BBC, PBS, Discovery Asia, National Geographic, ZDF and Philippine ABS-CBN. I have visited over 50 cities in China to make documentaries, and thus gained a deep understanding of the Chinese culture. 

I have done intern-interpreter at UN Austria and also interpreted for WHO, UNICEF, Embassies, Intel HK, Gates Foundation, National Geographic, GE Medical, HP, P & G and Chinese governments etc. 

It has always been my dream to use my intercultural experience and my passion for languages professionally. For this reason, my offer for teaching, interpretation and translation is not just a job, but an inner calling. And we all know the famous saying "if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life".
